FLORENCE — A week ago North Alabama came out flat in the first quarter before putting everything together en route to a blowout against Glenville State.

It was just the opposite Saturday night in the Gulf South Conference opener against Southern Arkansas.

The No. 3 Lions scored on their first two possessions to take control and then coasted home for a 48-6 victory over the Muleriders.

UNA’s defense came up with four interceptions, including one which was returned for a touchdown by Brent Vinson. Lee Chapple added two touchdown passes and Chris Coffey had two scoring runs as UNA (3-0, 1-0 GSC) remained unbeaten.
