FLORENCE – Three players reached double digits in kills as the University of North Alabama volleyball team downed Eckerd 3-0 Saturday afternoon at Flowers Hall. The 25-17, 25-17, 25-23 South Region victory avenges an early-season loss to the Tritons (5-8) and gives UNA an 8-4 record on the season.

Natalie Marsh had 12 kills to lead the Lions. The junior from Cincinnati, Ohio also turned in a .529 hitting percentage on the day. Ari Smith and Hristina Markova added 11 kills each while setter Hope Rayburn recorded 39 assists for UNA.

Overall, the Lions hit .375 as a team, including a season-best .630 showing in the second set. Sarah Roberts also had nine kills for the Lions while Lauren Greenhill turned in 13 digs.

With Rayburn spreading the wealth, seven different UNA players recorded kills on the day. The freshman from Springville also had five kills of her own and added seven digs.

Eckerd was led by Ariana Chinn’s eight kills.

UNA will return to Gulf South Conference play on Tuesday. The Lions will host Alabama-Huntsville at 7 p.m. at Flowers Hall.
