Golf undefeated in fall season
Destin, Fla. — The University of North Alabama trimmed 18 strokes off of its first round total and rallied to win the Indian Bayou Classic with a two stroke advantage over Delta State. The win was the fourth consecutive tournament victory for the Lions this Fall.
UNA’s 281 total on Tuesday, combined with an opening round 299, gave the Lions a 580 total. Delta State was second at 582, followed by Columbus State (594), Berry (613), Harding (616), Trevecca Nazarene (616), Henderson State (616), William Carey (617), Birmingham-Southern (619), Arkansas Tech (619), Lincoln (629), Cumberland (631), Milsaps (640) and Belhaven (642).
Joey Bradley of Trevecca Nazarene won medalist honors in a playoff over Delta State’s Grant Goforth. Both finished regulation play at 142. Chase Smith of Delta State, Rourke Van der Spuy of Columbus State and Jace Windam of UNA all finished at 143.
UNA’s Tyler Chandler tied for sixth with a 145 total, shooting rounds of 76 and 69. Tyler Ekenberg tied for ninth (147), Jake Greer was 11th (148) and Ricky Stimets was tied for 12th (149).
