FLORENCE — North Alabama’s playoff hopes were all but gone as the Lions entered the fourth quarter of Saturday’s game against West Alabama.

Needing a win to stay in playoff contention, the Lions had stumbled around for three quarters and watched West Alabama take a 20-point lead into the final 15 minutes.

The Lions, however, refused to give up.

An offense that had gone eight straight quarters without scoring a touchdown at Braly Stadium found the end zone three times over a span of a little more than six minutes as the Lions rallied for a thrilling 24-23 victory over the Tigers.
