Decision still up in the air
University of North Alabama – University of North Alabama President Bill Cale said he expects to reach a decision early in 2011 concerning the future of the university’s athletics.
UNA Board of Trustees took no action on resolving the issue of a move from Division II to Division I at a quarterly meeting Monday.
“There have been some conversations on campus with regard to a move,” Cale said. “We should close the case in 2011 so the board will have all the information in hand they need in order to make a final determination.”
Board President Steve Pierce said this is not a decision the board will take lightly.
“And, by no means, have we reached a decision,” he said. “We need to get all of this information, what the students and faculty and community think in hand, in order to make the best decision for the university.”
