Lions top-ranked in Coaches Poll
NEW YORK, NY – The final Golf World/NIKE Golf Division II Coaches Poll of the fall season has been released, combining the resources of Golf World magazine, NIKE Golf and the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).
Despite receiving only one first-place vote out of the 20 available, the University of North Alabama is ranked No. 1 team in the final Division II coaches’ poll of the fall and enters the spring as the top ranked team in the nation.
The Lions stayed atop the ranking after four victories and one runner-up finish.
Lynn (No. 2) and Western Washington (No. 3) each moved up one spot from the previous ranking with both schools winning three times in the fall. Chico State (No. 4) dropped after previously being ranked No. 2, while Central Oklahoma (No. 5) rose two spots after winning its fourth tournament of the fall.
Sonoma State (T-7) and CU-Colorado Springs (No. 10) moved into the top-10, after being ranked Nos. 14 and 12, respectively, in the previous coaches’ poll.
Dixie State (No. 22) and Queens U. of Charlotte (No. 24) joined the top-25.
