UNA took the early lead on UAH with a goal in the 17th minute off the foot of Chloe Roberts. She scored off a free kick from the left side to give the Lions a 1-0 lead at the 16:18 mark. In the second half, Roberts scored again, this time on a penalty kick. It was her 15th goal of the season and the 75th of career at UNA. Roberts goal came at 65:10 and appeared to secure the win for the Lions. UAH would get on the board as Cady Reisman scored on a penalty kick at the 84:02 mark after UNA’s Katie Crosby was issued a red card. The Lions were able to hold on for the last six minutes for the win, however.
UAH falls to 5-7-2 overall and 3-2-1 in the GSC. The win was UNA’s fourth straight over the Chargers.
Following the game Sunday at West Florida, UNA will close out its regular season at home against Kentucky Wesleyan at 7 p.m. on October 31.
