Lions’ Boughner Named All-America

University of North Alabama junior pitcher Chad Boughner of Florence, Ala., has received All-American recognition from Daktronics and the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association.

Boughner, who finished the 2012 season with a 10-5 overall record and 115 strikeouts in 114.2 innings pitched, was selected third-team All-American by the NCBWA and was an Honorable Mention All-America pick by Daktronics. Among the reciords set by Boughner this season are UNA records for starts in a season (16), starts in a career (40), strikeouts in a game (16), season (115) and career and innings pitched in a season (114.2). He is also tied for the most wins in school history with 25.
Boughner was previously chosen first-team All-Gulf South Conference and first-team All-South Region, as well as NCBWA Sputh Region Pitcher of the Year.
