Lions Golf Wins TVA Credit Union Classic


KILLEN, Ala. — Down six strokes entering the final round, the University of North Alabama turned in a 282 to claim the 2012 TVA Community Credit Union Invitational title by six strokes at the Turtle Point Yacht and Country Club. UNA had rounds of 293, 285 and 282 to move from third place after Monday’s play past Columbus State and Rollins. The Lions finished with a four-under-par 860 total.

Rollins finished second at 866, two-over-par. Columbus State was third at 867 in the 15-team event.

Scott Lamb of Rollins won medalist honors with a sizzling 206 total. He reached 10-unde-par with rounds of 69, 66 and 71. He was joined on the all-tournament team by Alex Vetnar of Clayton State (212), Jonathan Kim-Moss of Carson-Newman (213), Greg McCullough of Lander (213), Bryan Lichimo of Columbus State (214) and Mason Rogers of North Alabama (214).
