FLORENCE – With a 16-3 record on the season, the University of North Alabama men’s basketball team returned to the National Basketball Coaches Association (NABC) Division II Top 25 Poll at No. 22. The Lions received 59 votes to enter the rankings for the second time on the year.

UNA first entered the rankings at No. 23 in the Dec. 4 poll before falling to Tennessee Temple for its first loss of the season. The Lions are currently on a five-game winning streak and are tied for first place in the Gulf South Conference with a 9-2 league mark.

Metropolitan State retained the top spot in the rankings while Western Washington, West Liberty, Cal Poly Pomona and Minnesota State rounded out the top five. Fellow GSC member Alabama-Huntsville checked in at No. 9.

UNA hosts Christian Brothers on Thursday with a chance to avenge one of its three losses on the year. Tip-off is set for 8 p.m. at Flowers Hall.
