Other ranked GSC teams were #8 Delta State and #10 Henderson State.
Chapple earned his first-ever honor, leading UNA to its 400th all-time victory via a 54-10 road triumph over Glenville State. The junior completed 37-of-47 passes for a 78.7 completion percentage and a school single-game record with 447 yards.
Despite returning just six starters from 2009, North Alabama was selected to repeat as GSC Champions. A trio of offensive lineman return in Jamie Dixon, Will Furlong and Kyle Futch. Lee Chapple is the favorite to start at quarterback after transferring from Division I-FCS Georgia Southern.
